Big Otter Elementary School recently received generous support from two state leaders to help improve the school's baseball field.
On Wednesday, May 27, Senator Glenn Jeffries and Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw donated funds to cover the cost of topsoil for the existing baseball field. The donations were accepted by Big Otter Elementary Principal Anthony Boggs and Clay County Schools Superintendent Phil Dobbins on behalf of the school.
The addition of topsoil is an important step in enhancing the playing surface and ensuring students have a safe, high-quality field to enjoy for years to come. Students and staff at Big Otter Elementary are excited to see the improvements take shape and are looking forward to using the field once the work is completed.
Clay County Schools extends its sincere appreciation to Senator Jeffries and Speaker Hanshaw for their generosity and continued support of the students of Clay County. Their investment in Big Otter Elementary will have a lasting impact on the school's students, staff, and community.
Thank you, Senator Jeffries and Speaker Hanshaw, for helping make this project possible.
