On Thursday, May 7, Clay County Middle School welcomed a wonderful turnout for the CCMS 2026 Art Show, featuring creative food sculptures inspired by renowned artist Peter Anton.

Students proudly showcased projects they had spent the past month designing and creating, demonstrating impressive creativity and craftsmanship through sculptures representing appetizers, entrées, desserts, drinks, and condiments.

Using recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic, foam, and paper — along with clay in some projects — students transformed everyday items into imaginative works of art that impressed both visitors and judges alike.

Top honors for the evening included:
First Place: Sophia B. and Charley B. for their “Sushi Plate”
Second Place: Eli B. and Bradley C. for “Toasty the Toaster Toasting its Toast”
Third Place: Libby D. for “Dirt Cake”
Honorable Mention: Eric R. for “Banana Taped to a Wall for $6.2 Million”

A huge congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Blake and her students for the tremendous amount of hard work, creativity, and dedication that went into making this event such a success. Their talent and effort were truly evident in every project on display! 👏

A special thank you goes out to the event judges — Dr. Michelle Samples, Mrs. Leslie Goe, and Mr. Jamie Tanner — for their time and support. CCMS would also like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success while celebrating the hard work and artistic talents of our students.
