Clay County Schools is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by both the Clay County Middle School and Clay County High School bands. On Thursday, April 16th, both groups earned Superior Ratings at the Regional Band Festival held at Chapmanville High School.
This prestigious recognition reflects the dedication, discipline, and musical talent of our student musicians, as well as the leadership and commitment of their directors.
Clay County High School’s band, under the direction of Kristie Keiffer, continues to demonstrate excellence. In just her first two years as director, Ms. Keiffer has led the high school band to back-to-back Superior Ratings, an impressive accomplishment that highlights her strong leadership and commitment to student success.
At the middle school level, longtime band director Doug Wayne has once again guided his students to success. Mr. Wayne has built a legacy of excellence, with his bands consistently earning Superior Ratings over his many years of service to Clay County Schools.
These accomplishments highlight the strength of the band program across the district and the hard work of students who have dedicated countless hours to practice and performance.
Clay County Schools congratulates both bands, their directors, and everyone who supports their success. We are proud of your achievements and look forward to many more performances to come!
